The family of Peter Kegg have paid tribute after a collision in Bournemouth.
Peter, 84, was a pedestrian involved in a collision with a silver Honda Jazz in Belle Vue Road at around half past five on Tuesday 11 August. He was taken to hospital with injuries which were life threatening and died there on Monday 24 August.
His family said Peter, who worked in social housing, became one of the youngest directors of housing in the country at 28. They said he later became director of housing, health and community services and completed around 35 years in the housing department.
In their tribute, they described him as “generous and caring” and said he “would help anyone”. They said he treated people with dignity and respect, and also supported charity work, including Habitat for Humanity and a local food bank.
Peter’s family said he enjoyed motorcars, golf, tennis, walking football and time with relatives in France. They added that he was a devoted husband to Sylvia, as well as a loving dad, grandad and great grandad.
