Summer firework displays will return to Bournemouth beach and Poole Quay this week after the wildfire risk eased. Following discussions with partners including emergency services, BCP Council confirmed the Poole display will take place on 27 August, followed by the Bournemouth beach event on 28 August later this week.An additional display has also been arranged at each location next week, with Poole Quay hosting fireworks on 3 September and Bournemouth beach following on 4 September, at no additional cost to the council.
Councillor Richard Herrett, BCP Council’s portfolio holder for destination, leisure and commercial operations, said the events provide a “welcome boost” for local businesses and the visitor economy, adding that he was pleased the cancelled displays had been rearranged.
All displays begin at 10pm, while Poole Quay will also feature live music and family entertainment before its fireworks finale, with Councillor Herrett encouraging everyone attending to enjoy the events responsibly.
