Aspire Estates Property Ltd applied to remove the rear extension at 15 Poole Road and build the homes with parking, access, landscaping and a pergola. The site sits behind Hannah Levy House, which includes a 19th century building fronting Poole Hill.
The scheme will provide three houses with three bedrooms and three houses with two bedrooms. Each will have private outdoor space, and the homes will be set out in a U shaped mews with buildings facing Clarendon Road and another section further back.
BCP Council has granted planning permission with a substantial number of conditions. These include tree protection during construction, council approval for specialist root friendly foundations before work starts, and arboricultural supervision where foundations affect root protection areas.
Landscaping and biodiversity measures are also required, including a replacement for a lost tree. Some windows must use obscured glazing, and vegetation clearance must avoid the bird breeding season unless an ecologist confirms that nesting birds are absent.
