Sam’s Chicken is seeking permission to convert 573 Christchurch Road into a “restaurant takeaway”, while continuing to run its existing Bournemouth site at 170 Old Christchurch Road, which sells fried chicken, burgers and wings.
The application says the shopfront would keep its approved layout, with only “painted lettering” added over an existing sign, alongside plans to install an extractor flue at the premises on Christchurch Road.
A previous similar proposal was refused because of planned shopfront changes and missing details about the position of an external flue in relation to a nearby window serving a residential kitchen.
Updated drawings have now been submitted to address concerns about sight lines from that residential kitchen window, which the proposed flue would affect if approved as part of the revised application for the Bournemouth site.
The change of use proposal is listed under planning application P/26/03564/FUL, and public consultation on the plans is open until 3 September.
