A romance writing festival will return to Bournemouth’s East Cliff for its second year next month.
The Romance Writing Festival is due to take place at the Marsham Court Hotel on Saturday, the third of October, with Sunday Times bestselling author Katie Fforde among the guests and BBC South’s Edward Sault set to interview her live on stage.
Workshops will cover editing, publishing contracts and marketing, while the programme also includes coastal networking walks along Bournemouth seafront, which are intended to connect Dorset writers with literary agents and publishers from London.
Sharon Kendrick, whose romance novels have sold more than 30 million copies, will lead a story ideas masterclass with Sue Moorcroft, and the day will finish with an evening creative cabaret performance.
Dominic Wong, who is a Bournemouth resident and founder of the festival, said the event was created to "celebrate storytellers" and give local authors "direct access" to publishers and literary agents closer to home.
