Dorset Police was called at 6.48pm on Tuesday 6 October 2026 after receiving reports that young people were throwing rocks at cars and buses from an abandoned building in Hinton Road in Bournemouth town centre.
The force also received reports of young people throwing tiles and guttering from buildings in Westover Road, with officers attending and searching the area following the calls about activity at the 2 locations.
Morebus issued a service update describing “acts of vandalism” in Hinton Road, telling passengers that objects were being launched onto passing vehicles and announcing a diversion for all its services departing Bournemouth.
The operator said buses would travel via Burlington Arcade and would not serve Hinton Road during the diversion, while the police statement confirmed the outcome of the initial attendance: “No arrests have been made.”
