Plans for 30 minute parking limits on part of Purewell in Christchurch are now open for public comment, with BCP Council saying the changes aim to support bus reliability. The proposal would set a 30 minute limit for selected bays on the southern side of Purewell, between Stony Lane and the Purewell Cross roundabout, from Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm, with a 1 hour no return rule.
The bays listed in the proposal are outside numbers 39, 45 to 47, 67, Fernlea 1, 2 and 3, 83, 87, 89 to 91, 101 to 115a, and 117 on Purewell.
Waiting would also be banned during the same hours on some stretches between the limited stay bays, with the council saying the changes are intended to "help keep traffic moving" and "reduce bus journey times".
People have until September 18 to comment through the Traffweb interactive map, or by writing to the Traffic Team at BCP Civic Centre in Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, quoting reference P139 with any written response.
