A power outage at Bournemouth Airport affected flights on Saturday afternoon.

Passengers travelling through the airport were advised to check in as normal, although the loss of electricity means some of the facilities usually available inside the terminal did not operate.

Restaurants and shops were closed while the power supply was unavailable, with the outage affecting all flights arriving at and departing from Bournemouth Airport during the disruption.

At the time, posting on social media, the airport said it was working to restore power “as quickly as possible”, while asking passengers to continue with the usual check in process when they reach the terminal.

Passengers have told Bournemouth One the power has been out since the early afternoon, and a later statement confirmed the power went out around 3pm.

No flights were cancelled but delays continued into the evening.
