The full closure for work will run over eight weekdays, with the road reopening at weekends, and will cover the carriageway between the Seamoor Road traffic signals and a point near Queens Road, outside Manor Court.
Residents have been told about the scheme, and local bus operators have been contacted to help reduce disruption for passengers and drivers using Westbourne and routes towards Bournemouth town centre.
On the first day, crews will repair a deteriorated utility reinstatement outside Tesco Express near Milburn Road, before the main resurfacing begins from the Seamoor Road end the following day.
The council says drivers should “allow extra travel time” and “plan journeys in advance”, with information on road closures, diversions and project updates available through One.Network during the planned works.
Milburn Road will close for the 24 hour repair period, while temporary diversions will also affect Landseer Road during overnight work, with resident access kept via Prince of Wales Road.
