DrgnFly, at 1 Bournemouth Road, wants permission for live music, recorded music and late night refreshments to run later on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The application has drawn 27 objections, including one from Poole Town Council. Concerns raised include the possible impact on “crime and disorder”, “public safety” and “public nuisance”.
The restaurant already has permission for films, live music, recorded music, activities similar to music and dance, and late night refreshments, but within existing limits.
Mediation between the applicant and Dorset Police has led to agreement on removing some conditions considered unnecessary, duplicated or no longer appropriate. Other existing conditions would also be amended and updated as part of the process.
A report says no mediation had taken place with residents and others who made representations at the time it was written, meaning those objections remain unresolved.
The application is due to be considered at a meeting on Tuesday, September 8.
