A Poole model railway club is marking its 70th year with a two day exhibition.

Poole and District Model Railway Society will hold the event at Corfe Hills School in Broadstone on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, featuring more than 20 layouts in a variety of different gauges and scales.

Traders will also be attending with new and used railway models, craft items, tools and accessories, while exhibitors will be bringing a wide range of layouts for visitors to see throughout the weekend.

An organiser said: “We are celebrating our 70th year as a model railway club and are hosting a 2 day model railway exhibition this year.”

They added that the club would “love to have as many people attend as possible to celebrate with us”, with many traders and exhibitors taking part across the 2 days.

The society meets every Tuesday and Thursday at its base in Lagland Street, Poole, and says new members of all ages are welcome.
