A new festive family mile is coming to Poole seafront this December.
Forest Holme Hospice Charity is launching its Merry Mile on Sunday six December 2026, with a one mile route from the Branksome Dene Room to Branksome Chine Beach and back.
Families can run, walk, skip or stroll along the seafront, with Christmas fancy dress encouraged. Hot Radio will also be there with festive music during the event.
Children aged 15 and under will be able to visit Santa’s Grotto when they return to the Branksome Dene Room, which is being turned into a festive setting for the occasion.
The grotto is being created with support from Haskins Garden Centre as part of Forest Holme’s first Merry Mile.
The charity said: “We wanted to create an event that families can enjoy together and that really captures the fun of Christmas.” It added that people can “run, walk, dress up, bring the family, even the dog”.
Entry includes a festive hat, hot drink and mince pie. There is no minimum fundraising target, although participants can raise extra sponsorship if they want to support the hospice further.
