Penton Motor Group is seeking permission for a mixed use commercial building with vehicle sales space, servicing and repair workshops, customer reception areas and offices, as it looks to expand into Poole and west Bournemouth.
Planning documents say the family owned company has worked in the motor trade for more than 50 years, and that the scheme would support economic growth while strengthening the area’s commercial role.
The company estimates that around 26 jobs would be created, including roles for mechanics, sales staff, administrators, valeters, delivery drivers and managers, if the development goes ahead on the site.
The application describes the site as "previously developed land", and the proposal includes EV charging points, sustainable drainage measures and the possible use of solar panels, while consultation runs until 16 October.
Documents say the development has been designed to avoid significant effects on nearby properties, and the application says it would generate "modest levels of additional traffic" on local roads if approved.
