A 25 year lease for a restaurant is planned for part of Mudeford Sandbank by BCP Council.
Council documents say part of the sandbank would be disposed of through a lease for restaurant use, after planning permission was granted to replace the “Beach House café” building on the site.
The café was demolished in 2019 after a fire in November 2018, and the council says the project is now moving towards the construction stage after permission was secured there.
The current temporary food and drink offer remains in place while the rebuild is prepared, giving people visiting the sandbank a continuing service during the next phase of work.
Residents and other interested people have until September 23, 2026, to send objections or representations to the council about the proposed lease for the land before the consultation period closes.
