The hubs provide information, advice and support for families with children and young people of all ages, with sessions and appointments covering stay and play, health visiting, midwifery, parenting guidance and wellbeing topics.
Existing sites at Leigh Park in Wimborne and The Centre in Ferndown are open, and hubs in Bridport and Wareham are due by the end of the year, followed by Littlemoor, Portland, Dorchester, Weymouth and North Dorset as the project continues.
A mum who used the service said it helped her bond with her daughter and gave her support when she was struggling after having her third child, adding that she “felt safe”.
Councillor Byron Quayle, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Early Help, said the hubs are part of a wider aim to make help available “when they need it”.
An online Family Hub is also being developed so families can find information and assistance from any location, alongside the option to visit hubs and meet staff in person.
