A family-run food business has opened its first restaurant at The Dolphin in Poole town centre.
Khaled and his wife started MK Gourmet Kitchen from a mobile kitchen in Corfe Mullen in 2022, serving homemade burgers, loaded fries and wraps, and have spent the past year looking for a permanent location.
Their restaurant is on The Dolphin’s ground floor opposite Primark, with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the menu, alongside fresh paninis, focaccia sandwiches and hot wraps. The opening will see the Corfe Mullen mobile site close.
Khaled, who has worked in hospitality for more than 20 years, said The Dolphin was “the perfect fit for our business” and thanked the customers who had supported the couple since they started the mobile kitchen.
He said the restaurant gives customers somewhere to stop for breakfast, meet friends for coffee or share a meal with family, adding that he and his wife are “pleased to be a part of The Dolphin community”.
The Dolphin’s centre manager, John Grinnell, welcomed Khaled and his team, saying the restaurant adds another dining option for visitors to the centre.
