Operator BH Live says the plans will improve the experience for people using the centre, which welcomes thousands of visitors each week. It expects to announce further details of the work and other improvements in the coming weeks.
The announcement follows an upgrade to Littledown’s changing rooms last year. The centre also has a swimming pool, learner pool, fitness studios, sports hall, pitches and soft play facilities, and hosts activities for schools, clubs and the wider community.
Rob Cunningham, BH Live’s Director of Leisure and Business Development, said the organisation was “delighted to be making another significant investment” at Littledown. He said it would help the centre support people working towards their health and fitness goals.
BH Live is a charity and social enterprise which reinvests its surpluses in facilities, services and community programmes. Its other recent local improvements include a new gym and café at Sir David English Sports Centre and new group cycling bikes at its Corfe Mullen centre.
