A licensing committee heard on September 8 that 27 objections had been lodged, including one from Poole Town Council, with concerns about noise, parking and late night disturbance near homes.
Operator Silas Eton said door staff stop glasses being taken outside, described DrgnFly as a “no shot” bar, and said the aim was to create an environment “that serves the community”.
Poole Town Councillor Xena Dion said the business is “in the heart of a highly residential area” and warned about customers returning to parked cars late at night.
Parkstone ward Councillor Emily Pankhurst said 27 objections had been made and argued that loud music until 3:30am for 3 nights a week could create “more than a public nuisance”.
Members asked about noise management, staffing, the customer base and contact with police. The licensing committee will make its decision in private.
