A Labyrinth themed masked ball is coming to Key West on Bournemouth Pier in November.
Pier Journal has joined with the pier venue to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1986 film, with an event that recreates the ballroom scene from Jim Henson’s story featuring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.
The ball will take place on Friday 13 November 2026, with immersive theatre, curated cocktails, live performances from local bands Velour and Treecreeper, and DJ music inspired by the film from We Broke Free.
A team of 40 volunteer costume makers, set designers, actors and artists is creating characters and props for the night, while Key West’s team is preparing themed cocktails for the event.
Rebecca Hougham said the idea grew from anniversary screenings and that "the Goblin City is coming to Bournemouth", while Laura Williams said "We’re so excited" to be working with Key West.
Costumes are encouraged and masks are required, with remaining tickets being sold through Ticket Tailor after almost 150 first release tickets were bought for the 300 capacity event on the pier.
