A 12 week Parkinson’s activity programme is launching at Kingston Lacy in Dorset this September.
The National Trust is working with Parkinson’s UK on “Stepping into Parkinson’s and nature”, which starts on Monday 7 September and runs until the end of November with outdoor sessions for different ages and abilities.
Activities include Nordic walking, outdoor running and walking, led by experienced National Trust instructors, with volunteers also available to offer “support and guidance” throughout the programme at the Dorset estate.
Organisers say being active can help people live well with Parkinson’s, and the sessions aim to support balance, coordination, flexibility and muscle strength while helping participants stay “active in nature”.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable active clothing and suitable outdoor footwear, and to bring water along with any food or medication they may need during the session at Kingston Lacy.
See more information here and book a place online, as spaces are limited and separate booking is needed for the Nordic walking programme at Kingston Lacy in Dorset this autumn.
