The proposals include a terrace beside Littledown House, which is a Grade II-listed former farmhouse, an outdoor gym near the Satellite One building, and a table tennis area close to the existing tennis courts.
Planning papers describe the work as “modest but important enhancements” which are intended to support staff wellbeing, encourage outdoor recreation, and improve the use of Littledown House for corporate hospitality.
No new buildings are proposed, and the application says about 190sqm of new hard surfacing would be created across the three areas, with step-free access provided through existing pedestrian routes.
The terrace would take up around 80sqm of lawn and connect to Littledown House by a new footpath, while the outdoor gym would cover 90sqm and the table tennis space would cover 20sqm.
The design material says the terrace would not alter the fabric of Littledown House, and that materials have been chosen to “harmonise with its environment” within the wider landscaped campus.
JP Morgan says the Bournemouth site has grown from about 650 employees when it opened in 1986 to around 5,000 staff, and the planning consultation remains open until October 16.
