A temporary car park could be created for staff at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Bournemouth.

The proposal covers the former Retired Nurses National Home site, where the existing building has already been demolished, and would provide 74 parking spaces for hospital staff for a short term period of up to 3 years while the land is used temporarily.

If approved, the car park would connect internally with the hospital’s existing temporary parking, while the eastern access point would not be used for the new temporary arrangement on the site.

Planning documents say vehicle movements would be managed within the site for security reasons, with the application now open to public consultation until September 1, before officers consider the plans.

A decision is expected after the consultation period has ended, with planning officers set to determine application P/26/03829/FUL once any comments have been reviewed as part of the process, according to the documents.
