Highcliffe beach ramps will be refurbished this month to improve safety and access for visitors.
BCP Council and Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council are jointly funding work on the East and West ramps, which link Highcliffe Cliff Top car park with Highcliffe Beach.
The routes have been affected by washout, leaving uneven surfaces and some steep gradients, and the scheme is expected to improve drainage as well as provide a more durable route.
Work is due to begin in mid September and take about 12 weeks, with 1 ramp staying open while the other is being worked on to help keep beach access available.
Residents and visitors can also reach Highcliffe Beach by the accessible tarmac route from Waterford Road and other local paths, while Naish Beach will remain available during the 12 week programme.
Councillor Richard Herrett said the works would improve "accessibility and safety", while Andy Martin, ward councillor for Highcliffe and Walkford, said the project was "coming to fruition" after years of planning.
