Residents in Hamworthy East will vote tomorrow in a by election for Poole Town Council.
The poll follows the resignation of Daniel Bleeze, who left the role two months after being elected for Reform, and who had shortly before said he would sit as an independent over concerns about openness and tolerance within the Reform group.
Six candidates are standing: Jude Chapman for the Liberal Democrats, Yasmin Clewes for the Green Party, Peter Cooper for Labour, Louise Fielden as an independent, John Sheldon for Reform UK and Paul Whitlock for the Poole People Party.
Voters will find their allocated polling station on their poll card, and anyone voting in person will need a valid form of photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
A Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council spokesperson said elections are “a vital part of democracy” and said the council must meet legal obligations to make sure the by election is “delivered fairly and securely”.
The count will take place on Friday, when the result is expected during the day, and the successful candidate will take the vacant Hamworthy East seat on Poole Town Council.
