Bournemouth’s Littledown Centre gym is set for a major upgrade during November and December.

The £1 million refurbishment will bring new fitness equipment, recovery and wellness areas, and a refreshed setting for members and visitors. The plans follow customer feedback and focus on the Bournemouth centre's gym.

The upgraded space will include Precor cardio and strength equipment, plate loaded strength training kit, and a new EGYM smart fitness studio. A functional fitness area will have sled tracks, ski erg equipment and wall ball stations.

Work is due to take place in phases across a six week period, with two short full closures of the gym. Partial access will be available for three weeks, and the refurbished gym is expected to reopen in late December.

Other facilities at Littledown Centre will remain open as usual while the work is under way. Customers will also be able to use alternative BH Live Active gyms across Bournemouth and in Corfe Mullen.

Rob Cunningham, director of leisure and business development at BH Live, said customer feedback had helped shape the project and the changes would support people “at every stage” of their fitness. He added: “We appreciate our customers’ patience.”
