Family cinema screenings are returning to Lighthouse Poole with monthly films and creative workshops.
The venue in Poole town centre says the strand will continue with support from the BFI Film Audience Network, which is funded by the National Lottery, and will add a curated family programme to its wider cinema schedule.
Lighthouse says its film audience has doubled in the past two years, and the programme will include British, international, independent and classic films for children up to 12, with each screening followed by a free themed arts and crafts workshop.
Katy Griffiths, who is Lighthouse’s Head of Programming, said Family Cinema had been "a real success story" for local families and added that support from the BFI’s FAN meant it could continue to offer a varied programme.
Neil Ramjee, who is Film Hub South West Community Manager, said the programme gives families a way to see "a wider range of films together", including titles they may not otherwise be able to watch on the big screen.
The new season starts with Flow on 24 October, followed by Early Man on 14 November, Dr Seuss’ The Grinch on 12 December, Robot Dreams, Paddington and Wall-E in the following months.
