A Bournemouth charity is turning an empty building into homes for 11 formerly homeless people.
Hope HTS has leased a large building nearby after tracing its owner last October, with work under way to bring it back into use after six years standing empty.
Chief executive Julie Berti said the property was "very dilapidated" and needed new electrics, kitchens, bathrooms and full redecoration, adding that seeing it become liveable again had been "incredibly satisfying".
The charity says it has supported more than 2,700 formerly homeless people from the streets into safe accommodation, and it currently provides supported housing for 95 people alongside counselling, wellbeing support, training, education and help towards work.
Hope HTS is making a final fundraising push through a Fire Walk at Horseshoe Common in Bournemouth on Friday 6 November, which Julie said would help provide "safe, warm accommodation" before Christmas.
Tom Hayes, the Labour MP for Bournemouth East, urged people to back the project, saying the accommodation and support would give 11 people what they need to rebuild their lives.
