The Restitution features Dave Delarre on guitars, Ben Seal on bass, Phil Alexander on piano and Willy Molleson on drums, and the group worked with her on her latest album, Frenemies.
The album was written and produced with Ben Seal, and it blends traditional folk with punk influences as Carthy writes about motherhood, betrayal, forgiveness and the state of the modern world.
Carthy, who describes herself as a “modern English musician”, has received an MBE, two Mercury Prize nominations and a BBC Radio Three Award for World Music nomination during a career of more than 35 years.
She grew up in a musical family, which included her mother, Norma Waterson, and her father, Martin Carthy, and she has collaborated with Paul Weller, Jools Holland, Patrick Wolf and Kae Tempest.
