ElderFest is expanding to Poole and Bournemouth this October, alongside its returning Christchurch event.
The 3 free events will bring local organisations together to help older residents find activities and support close to home. They follow last year’s Christchurch event, which attracted more than 330 people.
Visitors can ask about health, housing, benefits, energy, transport and digital technology, as well as meet community groups and find volunteering opportunities. Flu and Covid vaccination clinics will be available at all 3 events, and unwanted devices can be donated for reuse.
The first event is at Gather Space in Poole’s Dolphin Centre on Thursday 1 October. ElderFest then visits Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth on Monday 12 October and GodFirst Church in Christchurch on Tuesday 27 October.
At the Bournemouth and Christchurch events, trained staff and volunteers will support the people carers look after in a dedicated quiet space while carers explore. PramaLife manager Sue Warr said bringing organisations together makes it easier for people who “don’t know where to start” when seeking help.

- Christchurch ElderFest: Tuesday 27 October, 10am to 3pm at GodFirst Church, Christchurch
