The account, which was written after several journeys around Dorchester and Weymouth, found that buses were generally on time and that drivers were usually polite, although two services did not arrive.
The review noted moments when passengers helped people with wheelchairs and prams, and it said babies and dogs often started conversations, making the bus feel like a "real community" at times.
Most journeys covered route 10 between Dorchester and Weymouth, with occasional trips on route six and CR8, which were described as among the better served options in that part of Dorset.
For the Bournemouth and Poole area, the feature said the only public transport option found from Dorchester was the train, while services in both areas were newer and more frequent.
Other routes were more difficult, with Blandford journeys from Dorchester taking around an hour and some return trips depending on the day, while evening travel to Came View and western Poundbury was also limited.
