Applications for Round 6 and now open and will close on Monday 5 October, with decisions due by 31 December for organisations delivering cultural work across the Dorset Council area.
The fund is aimed at not for profit groups providing cultural activities, helping access to arts, heritage and museum services, and supporting the wider local economy for residents across the council area.
Councillor Richard Biggs, Dorset Council's Deputy Leader, said arts and heritage organisations play an important role in “bringing people together”, and the funding gives groups “greater certainty to plan ahead” and continue local activities.
A free online information session will be held on Wednesday 9 September, covering eligibility, the assessment process and questions before applications are submitted as part of the council's guidance for applicants.
Voluntary and community sector organisations and community organisations cannot apply in this round, and applications will be assessed on core cultural activity, community engagement and their alignment with Dorset's Cultural Strategy.
