Dorset children’s activity providers have met in Bournemouth for the association’s first regional gathering locally.
The event took place at SOBO Beach Bar this week and brought together businesses and professionals who work with children and families across the county, with time for networking, collaboration, knowledge sharing and business support.
It was the first Dorset regional meeting held by the Children’s Activities Association, which runs local events around the UK so members can connect, share knowledge and support one another in their area.
The Bournemouth meeting was co-hosted by Dan Bull, founder of Your Social Media Consultant, and Nicole Bateman, founder of The Friendly SEND Advisor, who brought experience in social media, SEND and neuro-inclusion.
Mr Bull said running a business could sometimes feel “quite isolating”, and said it was “incredibly valuable” for providers to meet people who understand the sector and can share ideas locally.
Ms Bateman said the first meet-up helped start a local community of providers who can learn from one another, collaborate and build better experiences for children and families, so “no child misses out”.
