Jamie Lee Dance Academy has applied for a certificate of lawfulness for Units 5B East and 5B West at Roundways Industrial Estate on Elliott Road, where it wants to change the use from business space to "indoor sport, recreation and fitness".

Planning documents say the linked units were last occupied by broadcast media software company Techex, and that the refurbished premises now offer large floorspace, office accommodation, parking and space for vehicles.

The planning statement says the move would bring recently refurbished commercial floorspace back into use, create employment opportunities and provide a facility that supports "health and wellbeing" for residents in West Howe, Kinson and Bear Cross.

BCP Council is consulting on the proposal, which is listed as planning application P/26/04284/CLP, before deciding whether the academy can operate from the two units at the industrial estate in Bournemouth.
