Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is preparing festive and New Year concerts for Lighthouse, Poole, including The Snowman, Handel's Messiah and How To Train Your Dragon in Concert. In Poole, the line up includes Handel's Messiah on Wed 16 Dec, Last Night of the Christmas Proms on Sat 19 Dec and a Celebration of Christmas Carols on Thurs 23 Dec. Winter Warmers on Wed 9 Dec features Corelli, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Mussorgsky.
The Orchestra is also looking for 4 young singers aged 9 to 13 to perform music from The Snowman, including at Lighthouse, Poole, on Tues 22 Dec. 2 Poole performances will pair the animated film with a live score conducted by Teresa Barlow.
The New Year's Viennese Gala comes to Poole on Fri 1 Jan, with waltzes, polkas and marches. How To Train Your Dragon in Concert follows at Lighthouse on Fri 15 and Sat 16 Jan.
Chief executive Dougie Scarfe OBE said music can 'bring us together' and said there was 'something for everyone'.
