Bournemouth Pier will host a Bears party on Saturday 3 October, featuring games, giveaways and photo opportunities, with Bears mascot Staley Da Bear joined by AFC Bournemouth’s Cherry Bear as the 2 clubs continue their collaboration.
The action moves to Vitality Stadium on Sunday 4 October, where supporters can gather at the 2:21 Bar for a watch party as the Chicago Bears take on the New York Jets, with advance registration required.
Former Bears defensive end Israel Idonije, who made more than 130 appearances and featured in the team that reached Super Bowl XLI, will attend both events, alongside Chicago Bears writer Gabby Hajduk.
The weekend also launches the Da Chicago Bears UK Grand Tour, described as the team’s first tour covering all 4 UK nations, with Bournemouth followed by visits to Cardiff, Leeds, Glasgow and Belfast during October.
The Bears say the events are intended to bring American football and English football supporters together through their continuing relationship with AFC Bournemouth.
