The changes affect roads around The Bourne Academy and Kingsleigh Primary School, where BCP Council says the aim is to “improve safety” for children travelling to school and “alleviate congestion issues”.
The trial includes a 20mph zone on Hadow Road, Bennion Road, Ibbett Road and Pavan Gardens, plus a one way route for vehicles travelling north to south along Bennion Road and Ibbett Road, with bicycles exempt.
Drivers will also see no entry from Kingswell Road onto Ibbett Road, except for cycles, and a left turn only from Pavan Gardens onto Ibbett Road, alongside new or extended waiting and loading restrictions nearby.
Disabled parking bays on the north side of Hadow Road and in Pavan Gardens will have weekday daytime restrictions, while the trial is due to run until March 3, 2027, with possible extension up to 18 months.
