A Bournemouth building could become a vehicle repair workshop and MOT station under new plans.
Terminus Motors Limited has applied to convert the site at two Rutland Road, which is currently used by a civil engineering construction company. Planning papers say the existing occupier is relocating from the property, which would allow the motor business to move in.
The company is described in the documents as a family owned business that has traded for over 50 years, and it says the Bournemouth site is an "ideal location" for providing "improved facilities" as motoring includes more electric vehicles.
The plans state that the workshop would continue to cater for petrol and diesel vehicles, and that it would not carry out bodyshop repairs which involve painting vehicles or parts, with visits managed through an appointment system.
BCP Council is consulting on the proposal until 22 October, with residents and other interested parties able to comment on planning application P/26/04622/FUL before the consultation period closes as part of the planning process.
