A Bournemouth nightclub has asked BCP Council to allow later nights on selected weekends, with residents giving both objections and support before a private decision from the licensing committee. The venue has applied to BCP Council for a variation to its licence, covering Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays that come before bank holiday Mondays, with the request also seeking use of the second floor.
Seven resident representations were submitted to the licensing committee, with six raising concerns about public nuisance and one supporting the application, which also proposes updates to the venue's licence conditions.
Licence holder Lascelles Richardson told members: "I completely understand the concerns of residents and I don’t intend to cause disruption for them", adding that he wants residents to feel able to approach security staff for help.
One objector, Andrea, told the committee: "We should be able to enjoy our homes and have family visit without being subjected to hours of noise in the early hours of the morning."
The licensing committee considered the application at a meeting on September eight and will make its decision in private before publishing the outcome for residents, the venue and other interested parties.
