The annual canvass is under way, with BCP Council asking households to follow the instructions they receive so the electoral register stays accurate for every address and voters do not lose their chance to take part.
Residents are due to elect 76 BCP councillors in 33 wards in May 2027, with the council saying the check helps keep records current before future elections across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
Matt Pitcher, head of electoral services, said the canvass makes sure information is “accurate and up to date”, and asked people to follow the instructions sent to them as soon as they can.
He said people whose names are not shown in council messages are not currently registered, and added that “the easiest way is online” for anyone who wants to join the register.
